My early outdoor experience is pretty much summed up in this picture: a lot of mud and tears! But it was good training and got me interested in the beauty of the British countryside, a love that I have come to appreciate all the more through my visits to other countries.

Doing the three levels of DofE was crazily tough but taught me a lot about hiking; despite promising never to hike again after Silver I found myself doing Gold and excited for the next challenge.

This summer I spent three weeks in the Yukon with the British Exploring Society, learning paddling skills as well as picking up useful info for my hike

In mid-June over three months of lockdown had gone- it's been hard- in a thousand tiny ways, in a handful of world shaking ways. I mostly spent lockdown sewing. PCT was off but as campsites reopened I was able to start to get away.
